Data Conversion

At all times in data conversion, use copies of your production data files.

 

Going up to ResSched 10

 

If you are using ResSched Corporate or Standard Editions, you must convert your data before using ResSched 10.  Before converting your data, make sure ResSched 10 is installed and you can connect to the sign in page with your browser.

 

These instructions are for converting data from ResSched 9.2 or later. For earlier versions of ResSched, contact us for support.

 

1.Copy your existing ResSched data files (*.tps,)  into the DataConversion\Source sub folder under your new ResSched main folder (default C:\ResSchedServer) on your server. Make sure to include any 'hidden' data files);

2.Run DataCoversion.exe;

3.Select you the country and city/region of your primary geographic time zone.

4.Click the Convert from 9.2-9.9 to ResSched 10 button.

5.Watch as the conversion program runs through your data tables until the 'Conversion completed' message and check mark appear.  You may have brief pauses if you have a large amount of data.

6.Move the *.tps files from the DataConversion\Results sub folder to your ResSched main folder.

 

You are done, but you may wish to backup the *.tps files found in the DataConversion\Retained folder to ensure you have them if you wish to roll back to version 9.9

 

If you have several years worth of data,  the conversion program may appear to stall (not responding message) for several seconds.  Wait for two full minutes before terminating the program. If you encounter error messages or the conversion does not complete, empty the Source, Results, and Retained sub folders and try again with a new copies of your data files.  If you still have trouble, contact us for support.

 

Organizations using the previous Web Module will have to reenter the Connection entries in Server Settings.  

 

Going back to ResSched 9

 

You can convert your data back to ResSched 9 at anytime.  But before you do, please let us know why you want to roll back.  A solution to your issue may be in ResSched 10 already or imminent.

 

Users,  system settings and license data is not backwards convertible, so the DataConversion program saved these files in the DataConversion\Retained folder. when you convert up to ResSched 10.  If you roll back to ResSched 9, these files are incorporated in your ResSched 9 data set.

 

1.Empty the DataConversion\Source and DataConverions\Results sub-folders found under your main ResSched folder  (default C:\ResSchedServer) on your server;

2.Copy your existing ResSched data files (*.tps) from your ResSched main folder to the DataConversion\Source folder;

3.Run DataCoversion.exe;

4.Select you the country and city/region of your primary geographic time zone.

5.Click the Convert Back from ResSched 10 button.

6.Watch as the conversion program runs through your data tables until the 'Conversion completed' message and check mark appear.  You may have brief pauses if you have a large amount of data.

7.Move the *.tps files from the DataConversion\Results sub folder to your old ResSched 9 data folder (C:\ClarionDataServer).
